The Education Department of the Swampscott Church of Spiritualism is pleased to offer the following on-line courses for the development and continued education of our members and friends.

On-Line Philosophy Discussion Group

Join Rev. Jason and other invited guests for this five week meeting. Together, we will discuss aspects of the philosophy of Spiritualism. Weekly topics will range from the nine Principles of Spiritualism, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, and discourse on life after death, the Summerland, mediumship, and healing. This group will run on Zoom and will be conversational in nature. Pull up to your computer in a comfy chair and let’s have a chat together!

Dates: Monday Evenings beginning June 15th.

Time: 7:00pm – 8:30pm

Cost: $50 members; $75 non-members (online payment is $2 extra due to PayPal processing fee.

Registration:  Payment for this course is due before class begins. Payment can be made via the church website HERE or by mailing a check to the church(please include your contact info as well as the class you are registering for). Once payment is received, participants will be emailed the zoom link.

On-Line Development Circle for Mediumship

Join our certified mediums for this eight week mediumship development circle. Each week, participants will be joined by one of the church’s certified mediums for an opportunity to sit with Spirit. This circle will be open to students who have completed Mediumship I and II. Participants will be given an opportunity to practice and polish their mediumship skills by giving messages. Get ready to connect!

Dates: Wednesday evenings beginning June 17th.

Time: 7:00pm – 8:00 pm

Cost: $100 members; $125 non-members (online payment is $4 extra due to PayPal processing fee.

On-Line Community Read Discussion Group

Join us for a community wide conversation. The book we will read and discuss is: Wilson, Harriet E. Our Nig: or, Sketches from the Life of a Free Black. This book focuses on the trials and tribulations of Frado, an indentured servant from nineteenth century Massachusetts who, later in life, becomes a renowned medium and Spiritualist. Combining both novel and slave narrative style, author Harriet Wilson includes auto-biographical elements about her life and times. Wilson is credited as the first African-American female novelist. Come along and join us on Zoom as we read and discuss this book together!
